Should I work out from home?

Hitting the gym can be the perfect way to kick-start your morning or unwind after long day at work. And while it’s always somewhere on the to-do list, sometimes getting to the gym is easier said than done. Then there are the times when you do get there and it’s nothing short of annoying – people standing around talking when they should be exercising, or people hogging weights and machines.

So what can you do? There’s a pretty split opinion on home workouts and whether they’re effective enough to really help you lose weight and build muscle – but it can be done, and if you do have one of those days where getting to the gym is at the bottom of your priorities, why not try this simple home workout and see the results for yourself!

🔟 10 pushups

30 seconds of star jumps

🔟 10 jumping lunges

30 seconds of star jumps

🔟 10 walkouts

30 seconds of star jumps

🔟 10 jumping squats

30 seconds of star jumps

30 second plank

Repeat this routine 5 times

Each of these exercises will target your whole body, so it’s important to focus on executing each move correctly. This workout is supposed to be intense, but that doesn’t mean you should go as hard as you possibly can – you want to build up your strength and stamina, so that you can go for a little bit longer every time you exercise.

Finally, make sure you warm up first, either by sprinting on the spot, doing some high knees, or starting off with some star jumps. Keep some water handy to stay hydrated, and when you’ve finished the workout make sure you stretch it out – before collapsing on the sofa and relaxing for the rest of the evening!
